The Oppo Smartwatch is similar to the Apple Watch
In a world of smartwatches that is largely dominated by Apple, there is one more global participant today, although it is certainly on the Android side. Oppo released its first smartwatch for the world to enjoy, namely the Oppo Smartwatch. Smartwatches, which almost entirely resemble the Apple Watch, have previously been launched in China and are in high demand. Taking a cue from the success there, Oppo watches have finally made their way onto the world market.
The watch will come in two models – a 41mm model with a 1.6-inch screen, and a second one with a 46mm and 1.91-inch screen with a 402 x 476 resolution. The bigger version has optional LTE connectivity facility, which works fine.
The company claims that the 430mAh battery charges in 75 minutes and can be half charged in 15 minutes. However, even though the watch is fast charging, previous tests have shown that the battery life is not that great.
This device will be compatible with iOS and Android as it works on Wear OS software. This is the first time this watch has reached Apple users, as devices launched in China have versions adapted to Android.
However, the biggest catch of an oppo smartwatch yet to launch may bear an uncanny resemblance to an Apple watch. In fact, someone could possibly make the claim that if the Oppo Watch and Apple Watch were kept side by side, you wouldn’t be able to identify which one was without turning on the screen. The band design, curved glass, square display, and OS visual style are very similar to Apple products.
The watch comes with almost everything its competitors have launched over the years, including fitness-related features like a heart rate monitor with constant activity tracking, breathing and sleep monitoring devices.
Oppo plans to sell the watch for $ 267 or around Rp. 3.9 million for 46mm and $ 200 or around Rp. 2.9 million for 41mm, including a relatively expensive price on the smartwatch market.
